Sagres Branca

SAGRES® is a 100% natural product, brewed according to exclusive traditional methods with water, malt, cereals which have not been malted and a rigorous selection of the finest hops. No additives or preservatives are used in its brewing. In the SAGRES® brand’s portfolio are SAGRES® Branca (Lager) and its variations (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Moderately rich, it has a dry and pleasantly bitter taste. It is light and ad it has a golden colour.
 
In 1972 the beer Sagres ® launches the famous Sagres ® Mini, an innovator format.

SAGRES® launched in 2009 some new innovations to surprise again the Portugueses: 20 litre barrel of SAGRES® Branca (lager), mainly intended for sale to the on trade segment, particularly to businesses with a more reduced barrel consumption rotation; 5-litre SAGRES® beer barrel with an integrated draught beer dispenser, an innovative product which is available to all types of consumers and the new 0,25l Mini Sagres beer can in the domestic market, the first Mini size beer in a can. This is yet another bet of the leading beer brand in the Portuguese market.

SAGRES® Golo beer, a limited edition on sale at an unbeatable price to celebrate the first year of SAGRES® sponsorship of the Portuguese Professional Soccer League. SAGRES® Golo is made using a special recipe, however keeping the original SAGRES® flavour. It was exclusively developed to commemorate the football events which will be held during the last stage of the Sagres League’s games, an occasion which is expected to be very exciting for all football fans was launched in 2009 to.
 
In March 2012 SAGRES® renovates its image with more emphasis on its Portugality DNA. In August of the same year SAGRES® mini beerlaunched the first mini size aluminium bottle in the market, with a modern and innovative design which not only speeds up the cooling process but also shines when exposed under black light as a result of the ultraviolet ink used in some of its graphic elements.

In 2015 Sagres celebrated 75 year and, in 2016 Sagres renovates its image, emphasis on its Portugality DNA, exalting the national icons and inscribing on the logo the expression "Since 1940", year of brand launched.

  • Curiosities
    The SAGRES® brand was born in 1940 as a prestige beer, to represent Sociedade Central de Cervejas at the Portuguese World Exhibition inaugurated in May 1940. With a similar fate to the caravels that left from Restelo to conquer different lands, SAGRES® is the first beer to be exported, arriving first in Gibraltar, and moving on to the Azores and the Overseas Territories of Angola, Cape Verde Islands, Guinea, S. Tomé and Principe, Timor, Goa, Macau and Mozambique.
