In April 2010, HEINEKEN launched the Brewing a Better Future sustainability program, revised in 2014 and renamed as Brewing a Better World, reflecting the Group's integrated and long term vision to become even more sustainable. As the world's most international beer, HEINEKEN believes that this program will make all the difference. As part of the Group and in alignment with it, SCC has already delineated and implemented its own objectives.
The Program
Sustainability is a priority for Sociedade Central de Cervejas e Bebidas (SCC), being strongly imbedded and integrated in all its business activities and embraced in each commitment of the Brewing a Better World program. A strategy globally aligned across the HEINEKEN group, to which we belong, to create shared and sustained value for our Company, Society and our Planet.
We have defined six priority focus areas, each with clear commitments on the agenda until 2020: Protect our water resources, Reduce CO2 emissions, Obtain raw materials from sustainable sources, Promote responsible consumption, Promote our Employees’ Health and Safety and Grow with the Communities.
From Barley to Bar
Sustainability is a basic pillar in SCC’s business, present throughout the entire value chain. The sustainability program, Brewing a Better Future, ultimately aims to create added value for the company’s business and for future generations, as well as respond to our Stakeholders’ expectations. We strive to improve our environmental and social impact, reinforcing our position in the market as a socially responsible Company.
